Through
the fog and threat of rain they came on February 26, 104 golfers
eager to challenge RedTail’s beautiful links
style course. It turned out to be a fine day for golf, and there
were surprises around every turn.
On the course, golfers found great barbecue sandwiches served by
Porkie’s BBQ; tasty margaritas served by Heathrow
Country Estates; an opportunity to Beat the Pro; the chance to win
a Lincoln Town Car or $7500 cash; fine cigars provided
by Pleasure Golf Cars; beverages provided by Silver Springs Water,
Arizona Iced Tea, Schenck Distributors, Wayne
Desnch, and Mount Plymouth IGA; photography by Donna Prescott of
Timeless Reflections; a wide variety of contests, and
of course, the beauty of RedTail’s setting.
What would a Tournament be without prizes? We had loads of prizes!
Our door prizes were better than ever, and
included many golf foursomes (including Bay Hill, Lake Nona, Legacy,
Alaqua and RedTail), fine dining, golf gear, wine, a
spa package, bed and breakfast packages, a bicycle and more.
Congratulations to our winners and thank you to the volunteers and
sponsors who made this fun day possible. Golf
Committee members include Lou Fabrizio, Vickie Fasula, BettyAnn Christian,
Richard Myles, Robin Weiss, Nancy Burford,
Carolyn Pepper and Pam Jennelle, who are now relaxing before they
begin preparing for another amazing tournament next
year.
